PRACTICE POLICIES
RATES + INSURANCE
Initial consultations (20 minutes) are complimentary.
Individual therapy sessions are billed at $140 for 50-minute sessions.
I accept private pay, and I am in-network with Aetna and Cigna insurances.
I am otherwise considered an out-of-network provider. If you would like to utilize your out-of-network benefits, I can provide you with invoices or “superbills” that you can submit to your insurance company for possible/partial reimbursement. (For more information on how to use your out-of-network benefits, see the FAQ section below.)
PAYMENT
You will have the option to enroll in autopay, whether you are paying out-of-pocket, or paying insurance co-payments. All major credit and debit cards, including HSA and FSA cards, are accepted. Payment is due at the time of service. Once we onboard you in the client portal, you can securely store your information so payment is a seamless process!
AGE + RESIDENCY
I work with adults (18+) who reside in the state of Colorado.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Since the scheduling of an appointment involves the reservation of time set aside especially for you, I require at least 24 hours advanced notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your session. No-shows or sessions canceled with less than 24 hours of notice are billed at my full session fee. Your credit card on file will be charged that fee automatically. Notifications can be made by phone, email, or secure messaging through your client portal. As a courtesy, I waive the fee for a client’s first late cancellation. If your late cancellation or no-show is due to an unexpected family or clinical emergency such as hospitalization, contagious illness, death in the family, or natural disaster, please contact my practice immediately to discuss waiving this cancellation fee.
TELETHERAPY
I am currently meeting with all clients virtually. I use a HIPAA-compliant secure platform to conduct virtual sessions which you can access on your computer, tablet, or phone. Appointment links will be sent through my client portal which you will have access to before our first session. Enjoy greater scheduling flexibility and meeting from the comfort and privacy of your home! It has been quite remarkable to witness the effectiveness of connecting in this way, and for many, it has supported them in showing up with greater ease and authenticity in session.

You can call, email, or fill out a contact form to ask questions or schedule your complimentary 20-minute phone consultation.
During your consultation call, I will ask you to share what has prompted you to seek care, answer any questions you have, and we can get a taste of what it would be like to work together. We’ll simply chat!
After the call, if we decide it’s a good fit we will schedule your first session. You will be invited to my client portal and receive onboarding documents to complete before our first session. I will review these prior to meeting.

At this time, I am only seeing clients virtually. We will meet online using a secure (HIPAA compliant) video platform. Many find that this offering increases accessibility and helps with scheduling constraints. You can see me from the comfort of your home!
We can address any concerns and best practices for telehealth during your initial consultation.
Therapy is intended to be a safe place for you to come and be the priority. You can break from your busy life and talk freely about whatever is troubling you.

Change often takes time. The path of healing looks different for every person. I typically find meeting weekly with clients yields the most consistent results, but we can decide together on the frequency that works best for you. Some folks come weekly, some bi-weekly, and some schedule as needed. Over time, we will also assess when you are ready to meet less frequently or end therapy with me. Your autonomy is my goal!
I like to set healthy expectations of the pace and outcomes of therapy. You may notice instant relief, motivation, change around some things, while other areas may require a deeper and persistent process of assessing, clarifying, and healing. I honor the patience and trust therapy requires. This isn’t so much a contract with me, but one with yourself. And it is one of the greatest ways to create lasting and meaningful change.
-
We will spend the first session learning more about what brings you to therapy right now, and create space for you to ask any questions and express any concerns about the process of therapy, paperwork, and my practice policies. We’ll begin assessing your needs, discussing treatment goals, and cultivating relief from the start.

I use an online billing platform, Alma, to conduct insurance eligibility checks. After our consultation, I will send you a link to Alma to enter your policy information. They will verify your status and calculate your estimated cost for each visit so you feel comfortable understanding your cost commitment!

If you are unsure if you have out-of-network benefits, I recommend calling your insurance company directly at the phone number on the back of your card. Important questions to ask are:
What are my mental health benefits?
Do I have out-of-network benefits for mental health?
What is my deductible or what is my out-of-pocket max?
How can I submit superbills for reimbursement?
*Filing a claim is the client’s responsibility & insurance reimbursements are subject to your individual plan and benefits.

I am not a Medicaid provider and am therefore not authorized to offer services to Medicaid clients. If you currently have Medicaid, unfortunately we cannot work together. I am happy to refer you to Medicaid providers in your network in our community if needed.

Effective January 2022, a federal ruling went into effect called the “No Surprises Act,” protecting clients against surprise medical billing. All healthcare providers are required to provide uninsured patients, or those who are not using their insurance and are paying for therapy out-of-pocket, with a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much their mental health care will cost.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
The duration of treatment is hard to estimate prior to meeting and gathering more information. Please note, the Good Faith Estimate is only to offer transparency about the cost of therapy and does not commit you to seeing your therapist for a certain number of sessions or a specific duration of time. It may change depending on individual needs, session frequency, cancellations, diagnosis change, etc. You are always in charge of how often you attend sessions and you have the right to end treatment at any time.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.

Unfortunately, no. At this time, Colorado licensed professional counselors may only see clients who are located in the state in which they are licensed.
